Previous Remarks:
2008 July - December: Monthly scholarship amount was increased to Rs.1000 from January 2009. Placed 4th in the class at 2008 first term examination with an average mark of 57.09. Class report for the third term was not submitted as term exams were not completed by year-end. This report will be sent later. At the end of 2008, a bank balance of Rs.7000 remained in the account. Last withdrawal was made in July 2008. Utilization of funds will be monitored closely. Recommend to continue the scholarship.

2008 January - June: Class report was not submitted as term exams were not completed by mid-year. These reports will be sent with year-end progress reports. The family lost their home due to 2007 January landslide. Recently they have received a 3 bedroom home from the government. The new home is 7 miles away from the school and the student has to spend about Rs.23 per day for bus fare. Since the government buses are not regular, she has to use private bus services on some days. From January 2008 the monthly scholarship payment was increased to Rs.750. From 2008, committee decided to make scholarship payments quarterly. Strongly recommend to continue the scholarship in 2009 and increase the monthly scholarship to Rs.1000.

2007 July - December: 5th in the class at most recent term examination with an average of 64.09. Has won awards in Volleyball, Elle, and dancing competitions. Active member of the school environmental association. December 2007 payment was not made - need to rectify this error. The donor agreed to increase the scholarship amount to Rs.750 per month from January 2008. The student participated at the meeting held in Kandy for Pahansila recipients with her mother.

2007 January - June: Progress reports submission is not satisfactory. However there was a lapse in payments from April-June. These payments were made on June 28th as reflected in the bank book copy. Recommend to continue the scholarship if she sent all progress reports by the end of the year.
