Remarks from the Committee (current period: 2010 January - June): Obtained an average mark of 53.82 at the 2009 first term exam. Placed 9th and 6th in the class at 2009 second and third term examinations with average marks of 56.05 and 42.83 respectively. Obtained an average mark of 47.1 at the 2010 first term exam. Recommend to continue the scholarship in 2011.


Previous Remarks:
2009 July - December: Promised to mail all progress reports in January in a letter sent by mother. Did not receive any of the. Will send a warning letter.

2009 January - June: Monthly scholarship amount was increased to Rs.1000 from January 2009. Copy of the class report was not submitted because the term exam was not completed by the time we collected progress reports from the student. Has promised to send that separately. Recommend to continue the scholarship.

2008 July - December: Obtained 96 marks at the 5th grade scholarship exam. Scholarship payment for July to September 2008 had not been remitted to the student’s account. Our financial administrator checked with the bank and found out that the bank had made a mistake in the account holder’s name and had not deposited our payment. This was rectified by the bank in December via a deposit to the student’s account. Recommend to continue the scholarship.

2008 January - June: Student sat for the 5th grade scholarship exam. Monthly scholarship amount was increased to Rs.750 from January 2008. From 2008, committee decided to make scholarship payments quarterly. Recommend to continue the scholarship in 2009 and increase the scholarship amount to Rs.1000 per month, depending on the performance at the 5th grade scholarship exam.

2007 July - December: December 2007 payment was not made - need to rectify this error. The donor agreed to increase the scholarship amount to Rs.750 per month from January 2008. The student participated at the meeting held in Kandy for Pahansila recipients with his mother.

2007 January - June: There was a lapse in payments from April-June. These payments were made on June 28th but do not reflect in the bank book copy as it was updated before depositing funds. Recommend to continue the scholarship and increase the scholarship amount to Rs.750.
